Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) monetized over USD 46 million from January to June 2023 for the sale of 123,908 metric tons (MT) of granulated urea in consumer markets.

 

“During the mentioned period, more than 33,414 MT of the fertilizer were delivered to the domestic market, while a quantity exceeding 90,490 MT was sent to Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Peru,” pointed out Armin Dorgathen Tapia, president of the state-owned oil company.

SANTA CRUZ, THE LARGEST CONSUMER

 

Between January and June of this year, the department that consumed the most fertilizer produced at the petrochemical complex of YPFB was Santa Cruz, with a total of 19,607 metric tons.

 

“The largest consumer of the fertilizer in the mentioned period is the department of Santa Cruz with a 58.68% share in sales, followed by Cochabamba, La Paz, and Tarija,” stated Gabriela Delgadillo Salazar, manager of Derivatives and Industrialized Products at YPFB.

Sales were recorded to various customers, including producers and wholesale distributors, as well as to public entities such as the Strategic Company for Fertilizer and Fertilizer Production (EEPAF), the Ministry of Civil Defense, the Autonomous Government of Cochabamba Department, and the National Integral Development Fund (FONADIN).

 

YPFB encourages the proper use of urea in various crops with technical application recommendations, catering to the needs of farmers.

 

For direct purchase procedures of the fertilizer, agricultural producers must approach the commercial team of the Derivatives and Industrialized Products Department at YPFB. Urea prices are published on YPFB’s website.
